Job Title:  Construction Manager
Job Description: 

The Construction Manager supports the construction capital and small public works projects. Effective communication and smooth working relationships between all disciplines and project participants are vital attributes of the construction manager. The construction manager's core responsibilities include supporting site logistics coordination with various campus entities, facilitating contractor access to secure or sensitive area, coordination of contractor utility shutdowns and outages, coordination of Purdue's internal service providers for construction support, technical support of design and constructability, coordination of punch list and occupancy activities, and investigation and resolution of post occupancy construction issues. The construction manager also serves as the advocate and resource for the campus customer in the post occupancy warranty period.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Needed
  • High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE) 
  • Experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Interior Design or related area required
  • Four (4) years of experience in construction trades, project management, project design or equivalent construction experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
Skills Needed:
  • Leadership and proactive organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Collaboration skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to:
    • anticipate project issues and proactively seek win-win solutions with a demonstrated ability to act as a liaison between multiple parties
    • interpret and implement University policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how to read and interpret construction drawings, as well as proven understanding of construction methods and techniques
Preferred:
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP or related web-based project management systems
