The Civil Engineering student
organizations – Chi Epsilon, CESAC, and ASCE – are excited to be hosting the
first Civil Engineering Concentration Fair. This will serve as an opportunity
for underclassmen interested in civil engineering to learn about Purdue’s nine concentration
areas: architectural, construction, environmental, geomatics, geotechnical,
hydraulic & hydrologic, materials, structural, and transportation &
infrastructure systems. There will be upperclassmen and professor
representatives from each of the different disciplines to explain what
each are does, the classes, research areas, job opportunities, etc. They are
there to answer any questions you might have. The goal is to help underclassmen
understand what area is best for them (if any – general is also a great
option!). We will also have some undergraduate advisors there to help explain
what it means to have a concentration/emphasis and the different academic
tracks for each area.
This event will be held in Woods
Commons on March 3rd from 6-8pm!
