UWM Architecture Graduate Open House

UWM will be attending a virtual open house event at Purdue Midwest Summit. UW-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP) hosts the only ARCHITECTURE program in the state of Wisconsin and we often enroll students from undergraduate programs like Engineering. We offer a Masters of Architecture, Master of Urban Planning, a joint M.Arch/MUP program, an MS in Architecture and our new 30 credit Master of Urban Design program. If you have students who are interested in architecture please encourage them to join this virtual event on your campus. All potential applicants (including your seniors and juniors) will learn more about our programs and admissions process. If your students want to visit our studio reviews and lectures series we encourage them to register for our SARUP Virtual Open House on October 30th.

We are very proud to share that we typically offer 15 competitive Teaching Assistantships that provide students a full tuition remission, semester stipend, and several research opportunities with various faculty.

As an example of the exciting activities at UWM SARUP, this fall, Tatiana Bilboa, an award-winning architect from Mexico, will join us for the prestigious Marcus Prize Studio. The studio, entitled From Private to Commons: A Space to Share, studies the concept of the commons as a tool to develop new community typologies through a design-build project. In addition, The New York Times traveled to Milwaukee for their fun and famous “36 Hours” feature, noting our big-city meets small-town atmosphere and top architectural attractions. Among them are two Frank Lloyd Wright landmarks. SARUP itself is home to a Frank Lloyd Wright Institute. Graduate students were embedded at Wright's Taliesin home and workspace for research last June.

In the meantime, below are a few links that may help to give you a better sense of the exciting work, activities and events that have been taking place at SARUP over the past few years. You can learn a lot about SARUP by flipping through our recent Newsletters:
